Mr. Obama is right

Did anyone watch the debate last night?

And it is true that this is going to be, I think, one of the most consequential decisions of the next president. It is very likely that one of us will be making at least one and probably more than one appointments and Roe versus Wade probably hangs in the balance.

Now I would not provide a litmus test. But I am somebody who believes that Roe versus Wade was rightly decided.

Obama understands the importance of the issue of legalized abortion. So should we.

The intrinsically evil act of abortion has no proportionate issue. No greater issue with respect to magnitude, quantity, or degree of importance. Not our 401K's. Not the war. Not the buyout. Not education. Not health care. Not trade. Nothing.

We as Catholics with well formed consciousness should know each and every abortion is a murder of an innocent human life. Yet Obama disagrees. There is no room to agree to disagree when only one position is guided by the light of Truth.

I love Obama's help pay for collage plan. $4,000 for tuition earned by service to our country. That is a great idea in my opinion - but it doesn't matter. It like all the other issues is secondary to life. The good of Obama's economic ideas etc. are not proportionate to the intrinsic evil of his active support of abortion.

There is a reason that life is listed before liberty in the Declaration of Idependence. It's because life comes first. Not first among many but first before all that is given us.
